Winter's Dance

Winters Dance

My dance is cold

And I dance alone

If I can't see your steps

How can mine remain strong?

I can't pretend you are here

Old dreams are too cold to soothe

And haunting words are falling like snowflakes

But they melt beneath my feet like dew

My dance is with the edge

And I dance with the end of fate

If  I can't follow your lead

How can I know which path to take?

I can't vision from old memories

When the new ones look the same

And promises from the same distance

Only bleed through my name

My tomorrow is with today

And I am afraid of that fear

If I can't feel the sun from your eyes

How can I know you are real?

I can't settle for a chance

When ice is what I wade through

So, wishing just lies in wishes

And in the dance of my solitude
