When we first traveled

within the love of our first hello

All the spaces we could possibly fill

seemed to be safe and lined with gold

We planned and dreamed

like all lovers do

Filling up a vase of memories

that one day we hoped would flow over into two

But as the months passed into a year

and miles became the comforter of our beds

Our first hello became distant

and goodbye starting being fed

Wondering and waiting

begin to line themselves with blue

Then one day fate turned the corner

In opposite directions of me and you

We were meant to meet one another

and share our dreams side by side

But when our dreams were over

It was destiny's long distance goodbye
