Bed of Roses

You and I have softened together

Like the sun does the sand upon the shore

I feel your rose petals falling

Into stems of memories that haunt yet soar

Like the twinkling of a starlit night

They sprinkle the stardust from above

You captured them ever so gently

In our song when you were lonely for love

And as our thoughts take separate missions

A tear streams down to the thorns

We are friends from a tool of a garden

Where the rain clouds cherish the roses in the dawn

As you read these small tokens

From a touch you never felt

Just remember the lace of yesterday

Where our hearts knelt
